This quilt was originally made in 1960 for my sister Gaynell by Irma Adams, the mother of our aunt, Eileen Gillespie. It had seen some hard use and I repaired it for Gaynell for Christmas of 1996. The square in the first picture is one I had to completely replace. (Fading the material would have been a good idea.) Someone had most likely been sitting on the top of this quilt--a big no-no. Quilts are for lying under, not on top of. This is an unusual variation of the Suebonnet Sue design and there is a picture of the entire quilt below.
